Friday 22nd to Monday 25th August 2008

The next ride-out will be with a difference – we’re off camping! Friday 22nd to Monday 25th at the Headland Camping Park, Tintagel, Cornwall. Come for as many nights as you choose or just join us down there for a ride-out. There will be no formal group ride to the site but feel free to link up with others travelling on the same day and time as you. More details will be sorted out at the end of July meeting and we’ll try to keep any updates posted on the web site.

Sunday the 6th July

Next ride-out will be to the Beaulieu Bike Festival on Sunday the 6th July leaving Seaton sea front at 10am. Amanda and I did this one on our own last year, it’s a great event marred last time by rain the whole way there, the  whole time we were there and almost the whole way back, so we’ll be praying for something better this time around. One word of warning – the coffee is very expensive and akin to dish water, so if you can bring a flask, do so!

PAIGNTON BIKE FESTIVAL – we are doing a club run there on Saturday 3rd May leaving Exeter Services at 10.30 am. Live music and all kinds of biker things going on to delight you!

Friday 9th May 2008

PINK FLOYD playing at Seaton!!!! Well no, not quite. but THINK FLOYD are on Friday May 9th at Seaton Town Hall. If you have never seen a tribute band before, this is the one to see. Having been wowed by them on three occasions and having seen the real thing on three occasions I can vouch for this outfit, they are brilliant. Do come along if this fabulous music is your thing.

Sunday 18th May 10am departure

FISH & CHIPS ANYONE? Next ride-out is to Rick Stein’s famous Fish & Chip shop at Padstow. We leave Seaton at 10.00 on Sunday 18th May stopping at Exeter services at 11.00 to pick up members for whom  this is a more convenient starting point. Then its up the old road to Okehampton and on to Bude for coffee before heading down the Atlantic Highway to Cornwall. A good long ride this one – lovely!

Sundy April 13th  Ride-Out

For this one I’m taking you on a Dartmoor trip, hopefully covering ground that many of you will not be familiar with. We’ll start from Exeter Services at 11 o’clock on Sunday April 13th and head out past Ide towards Motonhampstead, then branching off to ride the Teign Valley to Bovey Tracey and up on to the moors. We then take the road to Hexworthy and on towards Princetown where we take the road back towards Moretonhampstead and stop for lunch at The Warren Inn. Fingers crossed for some good weather to make this a really enjoyable trip.

THRUXTON & BRITISH SUPERBIKE RACING! Sunday 20th April

It’s a ride-out special! Sunday 20th April leaving Seaton sea front at 8.30 am for the big race day. Tickets are in £20 in advance (phone 01264 882200) or £23 on the door. Each rider responsible for sorting out their own tickets. We’ll stop somewhere for breakfast on route and we’ll be using the drop-off system so you wont get lost. This will be the first JB’s race day so make it special and come along.

Ride Out Sunday 16th March 2008

Yes, one ride-out with three options! We’re headed for the Purbeck hills, a repeat of the ride-out last summer but this time you can choose your distance. For the short version you can leave us at West Bay and head for coffee at the harbour side huts, for the medium version, we will all be stopping for coffee at Weymouth near the harbour. For the “full monty” we will continue to that excellent pub. The Square & Compass at Worth Matravers, for lunch before riding back over the Purbeck hills. Subject to weather, I can guarantee some wonderful views and excellent biking roads so  come on and go for the big one if you can on Sunday 16th March leaving Seaton sea front at 10.30

RIDE-OUT Sunday 17th February

Its Britain’s answer to the Grand Canyon – OK a bit tiddly by comparison but its all a question of scale – Cheddar George is nevertheless a spectacular and impressive sight  We leave Seaton on Sunday February 17th at 11am, taking the cross country route to Illminster and Shepton Mallet. Having completed a tour of the gorge we will stop for lunch at a nearby pub. We will be using the “drop off” system so please all, come along and enjoy the ride and the company.

winning prize for the best Christmas bikes.

CHRISTMAS KNEES UP!
A hog roast with the Audioholics and a chance to get yer dancing shoes on and shake a leg! Not to missed this one. The venue was The Knoll, Sidmouth Council Offices on Friday December the 14th.

Sunday 16th December

XMAS SPECIAL RIDE-OUT
Yes you lucky folks! Rob & Amanda are giving you the perfect excuse to get away from all that Xmas shopping. Sunday 16th December leaving Seaton Sea Front at 10.30 am, taking the coast road to Weymouth and stopping there for coffee by the old harbour. Then its on to Corfe, where we cut across to Studland and the ferry across to our final destination and lunch at Pool Harbour. We’ll be expecting a bit of tinsel on yer bikes!
